Creativity is the key to success, in the future, and primary education is where teachers can bring and enhance creativity in the students at that level. -Abdul Kalam
SKS International School was established in April 2019 with a dream to make it a centre for learning value education and not merely a school made of bricks and mortar alone but a place where children can develop their potential to their fullest. The dream of yesterday is todays hope and tomorrow will be a reality. In the last three years the school has taken rapid strides and we can see our dreams taking wings. It is a matter of pride for all of us that within a short span of three years, the school got affiliation with CBSE, in January 2022.
The school has the best possible infrastructure. The well ventilated and well-furnished rooms including library, computer room, activity room, laboratory and sanitary facilities etc. provide testimony to it. The school focuses on providing an authentic learning environment where students apply knowledge and skill from multiple discipline as to t wider their knowledge. We focus on both curricular and co-curricular activities where students are trained to have within them responsibility, loyalty, team spirit and healthy competition.
This academic year begun in online mode through Google Meet and WhatsApp where teaching-learning was conducted successfully.
We are fortunate to have with us well qualified, learned and empathetic teachers who are always eager to improvise and adapt new challenges and demands so as to bring out the best in their students.
PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION
A general body meeting is held on a regular basis. Parents provide the valuable feedback and suggestions to the teachers. The PTA is a group of closely knit individuals who work together for the betterment of the students.
For the survival and sustenance of mankind, environment should be preserved and that can be achieved if students love their environment and search ways to preserve it. World Environment Day was celebrated on 5th June. The students were sensitised towards saving and protecting our environment through online mode. They were asked to plant a sapling in their houses and send their pictures to their Class-in-charges. The response was commendable.
STUDENT ENRICHMENT PROGRAMMES
Just like every year, this year too our students actively participated in all school activities and competitions but with a difference i.e. in the virtual mode. These included cards making, handwriting, singing, poem recitation, drawing, poster making on special days like Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, and International Day of Yoga. Debate, Declamation and poetry recitation were conducted in school.
Festivals and celebrations like Raksha Bandhan, Holi, Diwali, Christmas etc. are also an integral part of the students development. All national, religions and regionals festivals were celebrated. These events sensitised the students towards living in harmony in a diverse society. Diya making competition, card making competition, Rangoli and classroom decoration were organised while celebrating Diwali and Mehndi Competition was favourite among girls while celebrating Teej Festival. As usual the students participated in all the activities enthusiastically.
GAMES AND SPORTS
It is hard to beat a person who never gives up. We at SKS School instill in individuals the calibre to withstand the different challenges that life offers which makes them physically and mentally fit. Sports Day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm. All the students got chance to participate in one game or other. Those were Lemon-Spoon race, Frog race, Sack race, Relay race, Book balancing, 100-meter race, Kho-Kho and Kabaddi and Tug-Of-War ,Three legged race, Balloon bursting, Shot put ,Long jump. The March Past by all the four houses was quite impressive.
I conclude by assuring that even though our students engaged themselves in various co-curricular and life skill activities, top priority is still given to academic performance, remedial teaching, extra classes, revisions , class tests, assignments and Term Exams have kept them busy throughout the year.
I would like to emphasise that we continue our challenging journey towards excellence education and solicit co-operation and support from everyone for the same.
